No.

2. Do I have to get a referral from a doctor?

No.

3. Can I claim it through Medicare?

No. However this is something we are working on and hoping will change in the future.

4. What is the difference between a Psychologist and a Counsellor?

Psychologists may conduct assessments to give you a diagnosis and may work with your doctor about medication. Working with complex behaviours and complex mental health. There work is all evidence-based research. You require a mental health plan from the doctor and can get Medicare rebates. It costs more per hour than a counsellor.

Counsellors provide a service that allows you to talk and work through any problems without needing to be assessed or diagnosed. We provide skills and tools that enable you to get through a day, stressful situation or emotionally difficult time.
